Unveiling the Power Within

Hey everyone,

So, I know I’m a bit late to share the “Happy New Month” message but better late than never, and who said it has to be in the morning? on the 1st of the month? huh?. To be honest, days are flying and I’ve been caught up designing a client’s logo, and before I knew it, it’s already February, Jesus, I truly hope 2024 can slow down a little and give us a chance to breathe a little.

But you know what? overall, this year has kicked off on such an amazing note for me. It feels like I’m finally ready to step into my own and do what I’m meant to do. I’ve spent a long time feeling like I wasn’t experienced or qualified enough to share all the knowledge I’ve gained over the years. You know how it is – when someone boasts about having 20 years of experience, we tend to think they’ve got it all figured out. But recently, I had a real wake-up call. I realized that everyone has something valuable to share, no matter how long they’ve been at it. We’ve all got our own unique viewpoints, ideas that have worked for us, and ways of doing things that have brought us success. And that’s something we can all learn from.

Last November, I had this eye-opening chat with a friend that shook things up for me. She’s like a little sister to me, and she shared how she’s been running her business for the past two years. Her insights just made so much sense, even though I’d tried a similar business before and failed miserably. She showed me how she managed to turn it into a thriving venture in under two years. I was blown away and so excited for her. It was a real learning experience for me. I realized that everyone’s got their strengths and experiences to draw from, and that’s what makes us all unique. We can come together and share our journeys, challenge each other, and learn from one another.

The thing is, I’ve always been the go-to person for giving business and marketing advice, whether it’s to friends, family, or clients. I just love doing it. But here I was, thinking I had it all figured out, and then my “little sister” comes along and teaches me a thing or two. It was pretty eye-opening.

For the first time, I found myself speechless. But you know what? It was a valuable lesson. We all have something to offer, and that’s what makes us all so special. We’re all different, but at the same time, we can come together, share our experiences, and learn from each other.

As we were saying our goodbyes, my friend looked at me and said, “Sis, I’m glad I can share these things with you. I hardly have friends or colleagues who listen and appreciate my journey. You’ve given me so much business advice over the years, and I’m just so glad I took it and ran with it. Show the world what you’ve got, and how knowledgeable you are in business and marketing. Keep doing your consulting, but don’t stop there. Show people what you can bring to the table, and I know so many people will be grateful they crossed paths with you.

I left that conversation feeling like a whole new person. I’ve always wanted to showcase my skills and share what I know, but I’ve always held back, worried that maybe I wasn’t good enough or qualified enough. But that was then. Since that eye-opening chat, I’ve spent December reflecting on my career journey and January planning for the year ahead. This year, I want to be more transparent, and openly share my experiences and the little nuggets of knowledge I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve worked with some incredible people, helping them transform their businesses, brands, and personal growth. So, I’m excited to share as much as I can. I’ve even started a new podcast called “What I Know,” where I’ll be sharing everything I continue to learn through my daily grind – from running a company to getting back into fine art, engaging in social entrepreneurship, and balancing it all while being a mother, a wife, and a sister to many. I want to inspire anyone who’s doubting themselves. Stop doubting and start sharing. We can all learn from each other. With that said, I wish you all a blessed month ahead, and may your knowledge and experiences inspire and elevate someone else’s career or life journey today.
